Members of WATAG are appointed on the basis of expertise and interest in the quality use of medicines rather than representation. However, drawing members from a range of stakeholder groups including medicine, pharmacy, nursing and management, as well as public and private health, and metropolitan and regional institutions provides a representative balance for the committee.
Membership comprises medical, pharmacy, nursing and other health professionals with expertise and an interest in the safe, appropriate and cost-effective use of medicines in WA. The membership also reflects a broad representation of key stakeholders involved in therapeutic drug use at tertiary, secondary, regional and private health services.
